Power Grid PGCIL Recruitment 2022 – POWERGRID, a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is engaged in power transmission business and has released a job notification for recruitment to the post of Field Engineer/Supervisor. There are 800 vacancies to be filled for this post. Interested Candidates with educational qualification of B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.)/Diploma can apply on or before 11 December 2022. The detailed eligibility and selection process are given below.

Field Engineer (Electrical):

  • Full time B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical discipline or equivalent discipline from recognized University / Institute.
  • Should have one-year post qualification experience of design/ engineering/ construction/ testing & commissioning/ O&M in Rural Electrification (RE)/ Distribution Management System (DMS)/ Sub Transmission (ST)/ Transmission Lines (TLs)/ Sub-stations (S/S).

Field Engineer (Electronics & Communication):

  • Full time B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Electronics & Communication discipline or equivalent discipline from recognized University / Institute.
  • Should have one-year post qualification experience of design/ engineering/ construction/ testing & commissioning/ operation & maintenance of TeleCommunication System.

Field Engineer (IT):

  • Full time B.E/B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Information Technology discipline or equivalent discipline from recognized University / Institute.
  • Should have one-year post qualification experience of design/ engineering/ construction/ testing & commissioning/ operation & maintenance of IT systems/ Networking.

Field Supervisor (Electrical):

  • Full Time Diploma in Electrical or equivalent discipline from recognized Technical Board / Institute.
  • Should have one-year post qualification experience of construction/ testing & commissioning/ O&M of electrical works in Rural Electrification (RE)/ Distribution Management System (DMS)/ Sub Transmission (ST)/ Transmission Lines (TLs)/ Transmission Substations (S/S).

Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication):

  • Full Time Diploma in Electronics & Communication or equivalent discipline from recognized Technical Board / Institute.
  • Should have one-year post qualification experience of design/ engineering/ construction/ testing & commissioning/ operation & maintenance of TeleCommunication System.

Candidates having Experience in POWERGRID on contract basis:

Candidates, who have worked in POWERGRID as Field Engineers / AE (FTB) or Field Supervisor / JE (FTB) for at least one year and are still working or have separated, can apply fresh for the post of Field Engineer or Field Supervisor in POWERGRID.

Eligibility Discipline:

Field Engineer/Supervisor (Electrical):

  • Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering/ Power Engineering (Electrical).

Field Engineer/Supervisor (Electronics & Communication):

  • Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Electrical Communication/ Telecommunication Engineering.

Field Engineer (IT):

  • Computer Science/ Computer Engg./ Information Technology.

Note:

  • The candidate must possess qualifications recognized by the relevant statutory bodies like UGC/ AICTE etc.
  • Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E. /M.Tech/M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed for the post of Field Supervisors.
  • Correspondence course in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engg/Diploma shall not be considered as recognised qualification as per AICTE norms.
  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Training / Teaching period will not be counted as experience.
  • The engagement shall be purely on temporary & contractual basis for a period of 24 months initially or till completion of projects, whichever is earlier. The actual engagement may vary depending on requirement and status of projects.

Upper Age limit(as on 11.12.2022):

  • 18-29 years.

Relaxations and Concessions:

  • Reservation /Relaxation /Concession for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/J&K Domicile/Victims of Riots candidates shall be given as per Government of India guidelines.
  • Candidates, who have worked in POWERGRID as Field Engineers / AE (FTB) or Field Supervisor / JE (FTB) are allowed relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of period of service in POWERGRID subject to maximum 5 years (over & above the category relaxation).

ower Grid PGCIL Recruitment Selection Process:

For Field Engineer:

  • Selection will involve Interview only, of the eligible and shortlisted candidates. However, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards / criteria and / or to conduct a screening test, to restrict the number of candidates to be called for Personal Interview, if so required.
  • Screening test, if conducted, shall be for elimination purpose only and will not have any weightage in final merit.
  • Candidates who qualify in test will be shortlisted and called for interview based on their performance in screening test.

For Field Supervisor:

  • Selections shall be made on the basis of scrutiny of applications w.r.t. eligibility criteria and desired experience profile and Screening Test of the candidates found eligible after scrutiny.
  • Candidates qualifying in the Screening Test shall be empanelled in the order of merit of marks obtained in screening test.

Scheme of the Test:

  • The test would be of 1 hour duration.
  • Technical Knowledge Test – 50 questions based on Engineering syllabus in the relevant discipline.
  • Aptitude Test – 25 questions based on Logical reasoning, data interpretation, comprehension, vocabulary, data sufficiency and numerical ability.
  • All questions would be MCQ type with 4 options and carry equal weightage (1 mark each) and there shall be no negative marking.

Note: Candidates shall have the option for appearing in Hindi or English in the Personal Interview/Screening Test.

Application Fees:

  • Field Engineer (Electrical/E&T/IT) – Rs. 400/-
  • Field Supervisor (Electrical/E&C) – Rs. 300/-
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
